Fran's Fryers
Growing and Processing Procedures
Fran's Fryers are better than "all-natural" because the feed does not have animal by-product. The feed is pesticide-free, not GMO. It is made up of corn, milo, and soy. The chicks are not inoculated when they are hatched. They are only given probiotics. They are raised in large houses on the ground with lots of room, lots of sunlight, fresh air and fresh water to keep them healthy. In order to prevent contamination, the birds are not let outside. The death rate is only 3-5% because of doing it this way. The death rate for outside birds is 20-30%. U.S.D.A. does not require all of the above for their all-natural label. That is why we are better.

At the time of slaughter, the bird's throats are cut so they bleed to death; then they are scalded for thirty seconds in 150 degree water. Then they are plucked; each bird is inspected by a U.S.D.A. Inspector. They are rinsed with an organic rinse, then chilled in ice water to 38 degrees. There are no preservatives on them.

At Fran's Fryers plant in Milford, Texas, we de-bone and package your order in a 45 degree room. The temperature of the chicken never gets above 38 degrees, then it is delivered to you.

Our U.S.D.A. plant is inspected every morning before start-up by a Quality Assurance Inspector to assure all contact surface are clean and free from contaminates. At the end of the workday, the processing room is thoroughly cleaned with Shaklee Basic H, then rinsed with 140 degree water.

Our goal is to process the healthiest chicken, beef and turkey that we can for good health.

The beef are raised in Missouri by one family farm. They have a "closed herd."  They do not buy cows or calves outside of their herd of Black Angus. The calves are kept with their mothers in the pasture until they are 600 lb. Then they are put in their own feed lot and fed all-natural feed for 180 days. They do not use steroids or growth hormones to make the calves grow faster. They allow them to grow naturally to about 1100-1200 lb. The big feed lots only feed the cows for 100 days and produce a 1300 lb steer.

They are bled to death by cutting their throats. Each animal is tested for Mad Cow Disease and E-Coli.

At Fran's Fryers, we cut the beef into steaks, roasts, and stew pieces. Every batch of ground beef is tested for E-Coli. We have never had a positive batch. It is packed and frozen immediately for your freshness. We never process beef and chicken at the same time, so there is never a cross-contamination.
